“My work is a game, a very serious game” - M.C. Escher
What is Tygron Serious Gaming? Tygron is a technostarter located in Delft, near the TUD campus. We develop computer games for more than just entertainment. Tygron’s games are mostly aimed at training management skills, but use lots of gameplay elements from entertainment games. We are looking for talented people who are looking for an inspiring environment to work in. For more info, visit http://www.tygron.nl.
SimPort Tygron’s flagship product is the serious game “SimPort-MV2” (http://www.simport.eu). This game is now ready for the international market and is already in use at several large companies, operating world-wide. The game is generating so much interest and enthusiasm that we plan to take it even further in the future. SimPort is a multiplayer game where a team of players has to create an extension of the Port of Rotterdam. Players can see how their piece of harbour and the choices they have made are developing through a 3D viewport of the area.
The assignment At the moment Tygron does not have a clear marketing strategy or marketing plan. In some respects it is still unclear where potential customers are and how best to widely spread the product in the market. For this assignment we are looking for a good bachelor student who can go out and get acquainted with the market and implement strategic guidelines we lay out in cooperation with an external marketing consultant. The focus will be on SimPort-MV2 and our future flagship product, the Watergame. (http://www.watergame.nl).
Activities To realise the above, a good literature-study, market study and related documentation are important. You’ll be working independently, where we and your mentor(s) will mostly set out the general direction. You will work out the details needed for the strategy set up by the external marketing consultant. The market study will focus on the different players, potential, trend, etc. At Tygron you’ll become a full member of the team and we’ll also ask you to help us support game-sessions with customers, which gives you the opportunity to have a look into the world of serious games. You will be working with us in our office in the building of YES!Delft at 145 Rotterdamseweg, Delft, The Netherlands. Interested? Contact us and we’ll discuss it further.
